Hey, gorgeous! If you’re like me, then you looove this time of year! Fall is fall-ing so that means the days are getting shorter, the air is getting crisper, and sweater weather is upon us. All the feels activate during Pumpkin Spice Season!

One thing about me? I’ve always maintained a year-round wardrobe because one: who doesn’t thrive on a little chaos? and two: I could never really get behind the finality of putting away some of my favorite pieces due to the weather. My vote is for crop tops 365! Why choose, am I right?

And you don’t have to! In fact, the magic to incredible style even during transition seasons is the blending of both worlds. So don’t put your summer favorites away just yet. This guide will help you discover your best fall fashion style by blending your summer staples with autumn essentials effortlessly. Get into it:

COLOR ME COOL

Let’s start at the start! I want to debunk the idea that as soon as summer sets, we say goodbye to vibrant colors too. There are some long standing trends that would suggest shifting toward more muted and neutral centered looks in the fall, but wearing vibrant and cool colors can bring a refreshing twist to the season's typical palette. Keep in mind vibrancy isn’t just in the brightness of the color, but in the depth of the color too. Bistre, one of the hottest color trends of the 2024 Fall/Winter fashion season, is not just a brown but a deeper richer brown comparable to dark chocolate. Other richer earth tones like sage and the classic taupe can create a stylish, unexpected look that stands out beautifully against the natural autumn backdrop.

Custom palette alert! Try incorporating some of these fall color trends into your style choices to keep it cool.

CAN YOU FEEL IT?

Layering in the fall can do more than keep you cozy. You can also use layering to blend different textures and create visually intriguing outfits that keep you both warm and stylish. I like to create outfits that go beyond styling a graphic tee under a jacket. Instead, I like to be dynamic by considering how I can blend textures. A corduroy blazer, a leather jacket, a chunky knit cardigan, are just a few examples of how texture can add depth to a layered look. To me, there’s nothing better than experimenting! So experiment away!

BONUS TIP: Here’s a simple tip to laying stylishly- opposites always attract. Pair your light weight fabrics like silks and chiffons with heavier weight textures like chunky knits. Try a solid leather jacket with a porous lace. Hard + Soft or Heavy + Light wins every time!

PLAID, PLEASE!

Another easy tip to transition from summer to fall is to utilize timeless patterns. Plaid is a pattern that’s evergreen! It will always be trendy, and it’s back once again as a 2024 Fall/Winter fashion trend. From blazers to skirts, this classic print adds a touch of sophistication and timeless style to your fall ensembles. A “do it for the drama” girlie like me would go BOLD and style two different plaids together; why not?

THE PERFECT PAIR

Boots are the perfect way to step into the new season with confidence and flair, effortlessly adapting your summer wardrobe to the crisp autumn air. A thigh high boot underneath a silk summer dress??? Spectacular!

Knee-high, ankle, and combat boots are all popular choices and easy to adapt from summer into fall outfits. I like to look for unique details like buckles, embroidery, and leather textures to complement cozy sweaters and skirts. After all, boots were made for stepping (or however the song goes).

Remember that transitioning your wardrobe can be both fun and seamless, you don’t have to start from scratch! With a few layering techniques, a sprinkle of your summer pieces, and a dash of creativity, you'll be ready to tackle any autumn adventure in style.

Here's to a fabulous fall! Layers are your bestie (like me), start planning your fall to winter transition (invest in classics), and embrace the change (your wardrobe is as adaptable as you are!). Click below to watch the style in action! What fall trends and style tips will you try?

Until next time!
